Father Engagement: Using Motivational Interviewing Strategies to Engage Fathers and Families

Participants will learn strategies to enhance their clinical skills for engaging with fathers and families, such as asking open-ended questions to identify personal values and goals, affirmations to validate specific efforts and increase personal confidence, reflections to demonstrate empathy and maintain focus, and collaborative strategies for sharing information, concerns, and action planning.
